ATTORNEY
Mark’s 28 years of experience, dedication, passion, and agility are reflected in his client satisfaction and sparkling reviews. As a former member of the U.S. military, Mark utilizes his skill and discipline to provide a systematic and intuitive approach in every case. Mark's unique background gives him an edge in offering genuine and satisfactory results.
After high school, Mark enlisted in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. Following training, Mark was sent to New York City, where he served as a Protective Service Agent for the Department of Defense, providing security to high-ranking Department of Defense officials and foreign guests. Mark was awarded an active duty ROTC scholarship and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. Mark served as a Air Defense Artillery officer before heading to law school.
After completing a fellowship in the environmental law program at George Washington University in 1996, Mark began his service as a Captain in the United States Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base. At Hanscom AFB, Mark served as the Chief of Environmental Law and as a criminal prosecutor. In January of 1998, Mark became an Area Defense Counsel for the Eastern Circuit of the United States, defending over 40 criminal trials at Air Force bases throughout the eastern United States and Panama. After relocating to Hanscom Air Force Base in Boston, Massachusetts, Mark served as the Chief of Environmental Law, primarily negotiating Federal Facility Agreements with the EPA. In addition, Mark served as Special Assistant United States Attorney and the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate.
In 2001, Mark joined a large national law firm where he was responsible for litigating several complex commercial and business litigation matters.
In 2010, Mark started his law practice focusing on family and criminal law matters.
Amid COVID-19, Mark reunited with his former colleague, G. Stephen Long in 2020 to form GSL Trial Lawyers. While at GSL, Mark litigated several complex commercial litigation and personal injury matters. In addition, Mark assisted small to medium-sized businesses in day-to-day business matters as well as individuals in select criminal and family law matters.
Following the untimely death of his close friend and colleague, G. Stephen Long, Mark became a shareholder at a law firm in downtown Denver focusing on commercial litigation matters.
In 2023, Mark, not satisfied with the larger law firm life, started MGL Law. Mark, along with his colleagues and support staff, represents clients in business disputes as well as in select personal injury, criminal, and family law matters. Mark has considerable trial experience in cases involving commercial contract disputes, shareholder disputes, real property disputes, family law, and collection matters.

Over the past 18 years, Ben has represented a far-reaching client base in both litigation and transactional matters, primarily in Chicago. Splitting the first 11 of those years evenly between a large international firm and a mid-size regional firm, Ben honed his skills in complex commercial litigation matters involving class action defense, construction litigation, contract disputes, employment litigation, internal investigations and white-collar crime. In 2018, Ben started his own solo practice, where he represented individuals and companies of all sizes in state and federal litigation, residential and commercial real estate transactions, corporate transactions and early dispute resolution, among other disciplines. Ben graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000 and obtained his J.D.,magna cum laudeand Order of the Coif, in 2006 from the same institution. Ben was also recognized as an Emerging Lawyer (top 2% of attorneys under age 40) by Leading Lawyers magazine from 2015-17. Ben is licensed in Illinois and Colorado.
